Samtec is seeking a Facilities Supervisor for our Colorado Springs, CO location. This is a Monday through Friday day shift position. Salary is $75,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year inclusive of applicable bonus(s) and commensurate with experience. The Facilities Supervisor oversees the site infrastructure and work environment at Samtec Microelectronics in Colorado Springs, with direct responsibility for managing the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program. This is a hands-on leadership role that involves active engagement in Facilities Maintenance and EHS activities, ensuring full compliance with corporate policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of facilities infrastructure and systems, delivering highly responsive support to production, engineering, and other support teams
- Perform and oversee preventative maintenance and repairs for building, office, clean rooms, warehouses and other support areas
- Supervise facilities technician, including goal setting, performance evaluations, career growth, training, and compliance with company guidelines
- Hire and oversee contractors for facility maintenance and improvements; obtain competing quotes, execute on time, within budget, and communicate effectively with all levels of leadership / stakeholders
- Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to optimize and improve building, grounds, and equipment functionality
- Ensure a safe, clean, compliant, and cost-effective environment
- Manage / Maintain / Improve building systems: safety, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, office and breakroom areas, access systems, storage, and waste management.
- Ensure maintenance, repair, and construction work adheres to safety standards, specifications, and budget guidelines
- Conduct regular inspections to identify opportunities for safety, efficiency, and aesthetic improvements.
- Monitor compliance in production environments (particle, temperature, humidity, water quality and others)
- Operates as Safety Officer for the site. Oversees safety and security for SME, including investigations and incident logging. Owns relationship with safety contractor. Conducts periodic EHS audits, and has dotted lined relationship with corporate EHS team
- Maintain compliance with EPA, OSHA, and other state and local regulatory codes
- Maintain logs, equipment data, building files, and inventory; serve as on-site expert for relevant systems and software (Manager +, Workday, Inventory Suite, ASC, Azure DevOps, Safety reporting systems)
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Facilities and Operations management
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated safety and environmental experience; fosters a culture of safety and risk prevention; able to effectively perform incident investigations.
- Strong technical skills and up-to-date knowledge of facilities equipment and technology
- Proficient with hand and power tools; specialty tools and industrial vehicle experience (forklift, scissor lift) preferred
- Effective problem-solving skills; ability to resolve complex issues and prevent recurrence – lean or six-sigma experience a plus
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple assignments and projects, while effectively prioritizing based on business need
- Strong customer service orientation; collaborates across individuals, teams and organizations and delivers sudden service with a great attitude
- Ability to maintain a clean, professional, and organized work environment – SME is a frequent customer destination; the site’s appearance should reflect Samtec’s values.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Visio; drafting software experience a plus
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 5–7 years of direct facilities experience in a professional, preferably technical manufacturing environment
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Operates in both office and manufacturing settings; uses standard office equipment
- Occasional exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, and electrical hazards; moderate noise levels, with ear protection required in some areas
- Physical requirements include talking, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, handling objects, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 35 pounds
